We took the boys to Disneyland today and were planning on meeting up with some of Nicholas' school friends. We had such a fun day! Three other families met us there, and Nicholas ended up being the only boy, so we did a lot of the girly rides, but he didn't seem to care. We met the princesses first and then went on Small World. The four kids sat in the front row and oohed and awed over everything. We also did the teacups and the Alice in Wonderland ride. Then Nicholas started asking to go on Buzz Lightyear. We went to the Haunted Mansion, made a quick stop for lunch, went on the Jungle Cruise, then finally went on Buzz Lightyear. He was so happy! Finally a boy ride! In line, he was holding hands with Madison (so cute) and the two of them got on the ride together, just the two of them. (Does that count as a date?) We headed over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad next, and shockingly, Nicholas went on it for the FIRST Time! I was so proud of him and he LOVED it! We ended up not going on Star Tours and I think he was a little bummed about that, but I think it was okay because he was having so much fun with his friends.
While taking a break from the rides we were giving the kids a snack and Christopher had wandered off. Yes, I am one of those parent's that hate the kid leash, and would never put him on one. Although at this moment, I definitely can see the use of them. Thankfully we found him about a minute after we realized he had wandered off. He came around the corner with a big smile on his face, little stinker. I do not want to be one of those parent's with a "I lost my kid at Disneyland" story.
We went on a few more rides, the kids got a much needed nap, albeit a short one, stayed for the parade and then went home. We ended up staying at Disneyland for about 9 hours!
