We went to San Diego to attend a graduation at SDSU this past weekend and decided to stay the weekend to do some of the touristy stuff. We went to the SD Zoo on Saturday to see the animals. Nicholas roared at the elephants and the lions, but I think he liked the bears the best, he would point at them and keep saying bear.
We went to Seaport Village later that day to walk around a little more, and there was a man there with parrots, and a bunch of other birds. He let people hold them and pet them and Nicholas seemed so interested in them, we asked if he could pet one too..we were afraid he would hit the bird, but the man helped him pet him and he even put one of his shoulder. I don't think he was too thrilled with the bird being on his shoulder, but it made for a cute picture to say the least.
On Sunday (on our way out of town), we stopped at La Jolla Cove to see the seals. Nicholas was more interested in the squirrels running around than watching the seals. It was a great and exhausting weekend to say the least!
Today we went to the Valley Greek Festival held at St Nicholas. We gave Nicholas some Pastitsio and Calamari to try and he liked it! (He did eat some of Jimmy's onion rings the other day too). Maybe he'll start to eat more new things?? We played the fish bowl game (where you throw the ball into the bowl to win a fish) and won Nicholas his first pet. It's an orange gold fish that we call Ishy.
